It’s great to be able to experience many different spiritual encounters, the filling of the Holy Spirit, and powerful prayer meetings. But the questions is what now? You had a tear-jerking spiritual experience so what now? Like I mentioned in a previous post, Extended Neon, there needs to be power and form. The power of the Holy Spirit is something that I believe empowers and enables us to do not just ministry but to live out God pleasing lives.

It isn’t enough to just have an experience or a series of experiences but the question is how do you respond after an encounter with the Spirit of God? For many they ignore the leading and the guide of the Holy Spirit (John 16:13) after the encounter and look forward to the next possible spirit-filled encounter. You mean to say that going from one spiritual experience to the next one is wrong? It isn’t wrong to want to go hunting for spirit-filled events and activities, but it’s like looking at half of a Mona Lisa. You only get to see or witness half of God’s masterpiece for your life, what He can do in and through your life.
I believe the Holy Spirit isn’t flamboyant when He shows up in meetings, gatherings or personal encounters. I believe that when the Spirit comes it’s done so with a purpose, with the hope that we would respond in faith and action (Acts 1:8). Don’t get hung on the spiritual experience but hang on to the Holy Spirit as you respond in faith and action.
